S3

April hotfix patch. Targeted Heat Dash combo starter and Heat-related move adjustments where reward outweighed risk. 37 characters tweaked. Larger 'late May' update pre-announced alongside Kunimitsu's release.

Tekken 8 Patch 3.00.02 — April Hotfix

TL;DR

Ver.3.00.02 went live on April 15, 2026 (PDT) / April 16, 2026 (CEST). Targeted hotfix focused on Heat Dash combo starters and Heat-related moves where the reward was disproportionate to the risk, hitting 37 characters. Bandai pre-announced a larger battle-balance update for late May (which would arrive alongside Kunimitsu) (EventHubs coverage, Bandai Namco patch notes).

Direct quote from the official notes:

In Ver.3.00.02, we addressed unintended behaviors and made adjustments to Heat Dash combo starters and select Heat-related moves. For Heat-related moves, we focused on moves where the reward was disproportionately high relative to the difficulty of confirming hits and the associated risks.

Release timing

Scope: 37 characters touched

Per EventHubs’ confirmation of the official list, the characters who received adjustments in 3.00.02 are: Alisa, Armor King, Anna, Asuka, Azucena, Bryan, Clive, Claudio, Devil Jin, Dragunov, Eddy, Fahkumram, Feng, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Jack-8, Jin, Jun, Kazuya, King, Kuma, Panda, Lars, Law, Lee, Leroy, Lidia, Lili, Miary Zo, Nina, Paul, Raven, Reina, Steve, Victor, Xiaoyu, Yoshimitsu, Zafina (source).

The unifying theme across the per-character list is two pieces:

Known issues acknowledged in the patch

Bandai called out a display-side bug in the patch itself:

The bug fixes and move property adjustments implemented in Ver.3.00.02 have affected the Command List and explanatory texts in Special Style, Arcade Quest, and Practice modes, resulting in discrepancies between the displayed information and actual move properties. In prioritizing these adjustments, we were unable to address this issue in time, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the next update, planned for release in late May.

Per EventHubs, the affected characters with command-list mismatches are Azucena, Bryan, Yoshimitsu, Heihachi, Kazuya, Kuma, Panda, Law, Leo, and Raven. If you’re checking move properties on these characters, trust the in-game behavior over the Command List text until the late-May patch.

Looking ahead

Bandai explicitly framed 3.00.02 as a stepping stone:

The next update is scheduled for release in late May. We will continue our efforts to improve overall battle balance and create a better competitive experience.

That late-May update is Patch 3.01, scheduled for May 28, 2026 alongside Kunimitsu’s release (context: Season 3 character schedule from Patch 2.09).

Community reaction

Initial sentiment was notably warmer than the Ver.3.00 launch. The top r/Tekken thread on the day, “Patch Notes Ver.3.00.02” (April 16, 2026), led with: “After skimming it quickly, it’s a shockingly good patch. Actual meaningful Heat nerfs across the board. 2-3 more of these and we could be back.” This is a meaningful tonal shift from the negative reception of Ver.3.00 (Game8 / Reddit reaction summary in our Ver.3.00 notes) and was widely read as Bandai responding to the post-launch criticism.
