For your first 5 hours, yes. After that, switch to standard controls — Special Style limits your damage and movement options.

Start with your own character's key launchers and 5 punishers. Memorize those before learning matchups. Frame data per character at /frame-data.

Focus on blocking lows (d-back) and throw-breaking. Most low-rank losses come from defensive mistakes, not bad combos. See ranks at /ranks.

You get one Heat activation per round. Active Heat (12s as of patch 3.00) gives access to Heat Smash, Heat Dash extensions, and chip damage on block. See /mechanics/heat-system.

Heat Burst spends your activation immediately with a guaranteed power-crush. Heat Engager activates Heat through a specific connecting move and lets you dash-cancel for pressure.

Below ~25% HP, hold the Rage button to perform a cinematic super. Has armor through startup. One use per round. Beats most reads but is reactable.

A move with armor frames (now 4f startup armor since patch 2.08) that absorbs one hit. Counters mashing but loses to lows.

Hitting an airborne opponent with a Tornado-property move triggers a slow-spin state, extending combos. Tornado state recovery on whiff -2f in patch 3.00.

Tightened to 1f less in patch 2.09. Stance characters need cleaner inputs.

Tap 1 for 1-throws, 2 for 2-throws, 1+2 for double-input throws. 1+2 break window relaxed to 5f in patch 3.00 (was 4f).

Sidestep can be cancelled into stance or block. Useful for resetting neutral after a defended attack. Sidestep input window standardized at 8f in patch 2.06.

Yes — df+1,2 hit advantage reduced from +5 to +4 in patch 3.00. Still A tier. See /characters/jin.

She fell from S (S1) to C (S3) after multiple Libertador weave nerfs across 2.06 and 3.00. Still playable but no longer dominant.

King and Armor King have the most extensive chain throws. Marduk-archetype grapplers (Jack-8 has some) lean on command throws but with smaller chains.

Mighty Ruler to Tekken Emperor is realistic for most players. Tekken God+ takes hundreds of hours and tournament-level competence.

Yes — plus-frame mids are amplified by online lag. EWGF (electric) is execution-locked but you can climb to Tekken King without it.
