Tekken 8 Patch 2.03.01 — Fahkumram Release

TL;DR

Ver.2.03.01 dropped on July 7, 2025 (PDT), bringing the Fahkumram DLC, the PAC-PIXELS stage, the long-discussed Rage Art on-block nerf (-15F → -18F universal air-combo punish), and a notable scope cut: Bandai pulled back the previously-announced multi-character buff list and applied buffs only to Devil Jin (EventHubs coverage).

Release timing

A follow-up emergency hotfix Ver.2.03.02 shipped July 22, 2025 to address unintended interactions from 2.03.01 (r/Tekken patch notes archive).

System changes

Rage Art frame disadvantage on block

The single biggest neutral change in this patch. The official notes (via EventHubs):

In the Ver.2.00.02 update, the maximum health was increased from 180 to 200, making it more common for characters to enter Rage state with higher remaining health. As a result, there were more situations where simple punishments like throws after blocking a Rage Art were no longer sufficient to secure a KO.

In this update, the frame disadvantage of Rage Arts on block has been changed from -15F to -18F, enabling all characters to reliably punish with air combos.

Practical effect: every character in the cast can now launch-punish a blocked Rage Art, restoring the risk/reward symmetry the 200 HP change had blunted.

Reward-trimming pass

Bandai continued the “Ongoing Adjustments to Moves with Excessively High Rewards” thread from 2.01. The patch touches Alisa, Anna, Asuka, Azucena, Bryan, Clive, Devil Jin, Eddy, Feng, Hwoarang, Jack-8, Jin, Jun, King, Kuma/Panda, Lars, Law, Lee, Leo, Leroy, Lidia, Lili, Nina, Paul, Raven, Reina, Shaheen, Steve, Victor, Xiaoyu, Yoshimitsu, and Zafina (EventHubs cast list).

Devil Jin — the only buffed character

From the official policy text:

As announced in the previous patch notes, we originally planned to implement buffs for several characters that would have minimal impact on the overall battle balance. However, after careful consideration, we decided to limit the scope of this adjustment to Devil Jin only.

This was a deliberate walk-back from prior comms and is a notable signal that Bandai was prioritizing stability over breadth-of-buffs heading into August’s tournament season.

Fahkumram — Muay Thai returns

Fahkumram, the towering Muay Thai fighter introduced as a Tekken 7 DLC, returns as the second character of the Season 2 Pass (after Anna). Distribution:

Fight Lounge social features

Looking ahead (as stated in the patch)

Bandai signaled that Ver.2.04 (August) would skip battle balance entirely due to the August tournament window, and that subsequent updates would be “small-scale updates focused mainly on bug fixes and minor balance adjustments.” That guidance held — see Patch 2.06 and Patch 2.08.
