Steve Fox — Matchups
Toughest
- Lili — Lili's `ff+3` and i12 `b+4` punish Steve's sway and her wall game capitalizes on Steve's lack of lows for combo damage. Sway less, block more.
- Reina — Sentai launcher punishes Steve's whiffed PKB.1+3 and EWGF crushes his slow stance entries. Steve has no low to force Reina off her stand-block.
- Asuka — Asuka's parry stance shuts down Steve's high-heavy mix. He literally has no low launcher to force her to crouch, so she just stands and parries.
- Dragunov — Drag's `df+2` outpaces Steve's `b+1` peekaboo whiff punisher and his `db+3` low launcher destroys Steve who has no low retort.
- Yoshimitsu — Yoshi's flash unblockable mids force Steve to commit defensively, and Steve has no low to force Yoshi out of standing flash setups.
Easiest
- Kuma — Steve's peekaboo `b+1` whiff-punisher cracks every Kuma stance entry. Big hitbox = free combo, even without lows.
- King — Steve sways under King's high-heavy chain throws and `df+4` low to break King's lumbering pressure. King's slow startup feeds Steve's `b+1` whiff punish.
- Paul — Steve's sway makes Deathfist whiff at point-blank. Punish with `df+2` launcher into peekaboo combo. Paul has no answer to PKB pressure.
- Bryan — Bryan's range game struggles to keep up with Steve's sway-walk-forward neutral. Steve's `WS+1` whiff-punishes Bryan's b+1 commit beautifully.
- Kazuya — EWGF whiffs against Steve's PKB sway. Steve's `1,2,1` confirms into launcher on Kazuya's hellsweep whiff. Strong matchup for the boxer.
Sidestep: Steve sidesteps RIGHT vs most right-handed strings via PKB sway (PKB.SSR is mechanically a sidestep+evade). Vs Mishimas, sway-back ducks EWGF entirely. Vs grapplers, sway-out is your throw-break tool.
