Lee Chaolan — Matchups
Toughest
- Dragunov — Drag's `df+2` outpaces Lee's Hitman `df+3+4` and his wr+2 homing kills Lee's mist-step approach. Stay neutral, abuse `b+4` whiff punish only.
- Reina — Sentai launcher catches Lee's Hitman stance recovery and EWGF beats his mist-step startup. After 3.00 nerf to mist step distance, this got worse.
- Nina — Nina's SS+4 launches Lee's Hitman whiffs and i10 jabs interrupt mist-step entry. Lee has no fast mid to contest — straight poke neutral only.
- Jun — Jun's parry shuts down Lee's high-heavy Hitman mix and Genjitsu launcher punishes his stance entry. Tough for execution-heavy Lee mains.
- Feng — Feng's parry beats Hitman string pressure and Shifting Clouds power-crushes mist-step commits. Range war Lee loses.
Easiest
- Kuma — Lee's `df+1,2` and Hitman `1,2,2,3` strings dominate Kuma's slow defense. Mist step into combo every Kuma whiff.
- Paul — Deathfist whiffs against mist step. Lee's `b+4` (i12 mid) whiff-punishes Paul's commits cleanly. Lee's range > Paul's range.
- King — Lee's mobility evades ff+1+2 tracking grab and his `df+3+4` Heat engager punishes King's lumbering startup. Stay outside chain throw range.
- Steve — Steve has no lows — Lee just blocks high and Hitman-punishes the peekaboo. His `db+2` low cracks Steve's sway stance.
- Asuka — Asuka's parry can't read Lee's stance switches. Hitman `d+1+2` low launcher catches her predictable parry timing.
Sidestep: Lee sidesteps LEFT vs right-handed strings — his mist step LEFT is the most rewarding evasive option in his kit. Vs Mishimas, mist step LEFT during their `df+1` recovery for free `b+4` whiff punish. Vs grapplers, mist step OUT to break throw range.
