Jin Kazama — Matchups
Toughest
- Dragunov — Drag's df+2 launcher (i15) tracks both sides and his df+3 (i14 mid) eats Jin's standard `df+1` poke. Block low — Drag's `db+3` is i16 low launcher. Counter with Jin's `b+3` (homing) and abuse EWHF on his df+2 whiff. Side step LEFT vs Drag mid pressure.
- Bryan — Bryan b+1 outranges Jin df+1 by 2f. Don't trade — backdash and whiff punish with EWHF or `df+2`. Bryan b+3 is delayable; block low on read. Sidestep RIGHT vs his snake-edge.
- Reina — Reina ws+2 from her Sentai stance launches Jin's whiffed mids. Block more, press less. Punish her `Sentai 2,1` with `WS+2`. Sidestep LEFT vs Sentai mix.
- King — Throw mix is a problem. Train King chain throws in throwbreak420 trainer. Use Jin's `2+4` counter-grab as a deterrent. King ff+1+2 catches sidestep — block instead.
- Yoshimitsu — Yoshi's flash unblockable mids force you to guess. Stay on the move, sidestep to your right when in his Indian Stance. Punish flea with `df+1` jab.
Easiest
- Asuka — Asuka's offense is slow (i12 fastest mid). EWHF her whiffed mids for round-ending damage. Stay outside b+3 range and zone with `f+4`.
- Kuma — Hitbox abuse. Jin's `df+1` and `b+1` interrupt all Kuma stance options. Side step LEFT vs his hunting bear stance pressure.
- Lili — Lili telegraphs ff+3 — backdash and EWHF. Her wall game is real but Jin's `4` (homing) interrupts most of her sway mix-ups.
- Steve — No lows means Jin can stand-block the whole match. Punish Steve sway with `df+2`. He has no answer to Jin's mid pressure.
- Eddy — Eddy's capoeira mix is read-heavy but slow. Block low on Negativa, then `WS+2` launch. Sidestep RIGHT vs his standing strings.
Sidestep: Default to sidestep LEFT vs most right-handed strings. Vs Mishima cousins (Kazuya, Reina, Heihachi, Devil-Jin), sidestep LEFT works on most EWGF setups but loses to their `df+1`. Vs grapplers (King, Anna), don't sidestep — block and read throws.
