Azucena — Matchups
Toughest
- Dragunov — Drag's `df+2` tracks both sides of Libertador weave and his `wr+2` homing eats her LIB sidestep. After 3.00 nerfs to LIB.P pressure, this matchup tilted hard in Drag's favor.
- Nina — Nina's SS+4 launches Azucena's weave exit and her i10 jabs interrupt every LIB startup. Use `df+2` outside weave instead — straight poke game only.
- Jun — Genjitsu stance pressure resets Azucena's neutral and Jun's parry catches her predictable LIB transitions. Mix less; punish more.
- Feng — Shifting Clouds power-crushes Azucena's heat dash mix and Feng's universal parry shuts down LIB.P high. Stay grounded outside Feng's `df+1` range.
- Jin — Jin's EWHF whiff-punishes Azucena's LIB exits and Heat parry catches her power-crush attempts. One of her worst matchups in S3.
Easiest
- Kuma — Huge hitbox + slow defense = free Libertador weave pressure. `LIB.P high` confirms launch on stance entry.
- Asuka — Asuka has no answer to LIB weave sidestep escape. Mix `df+3,2` low and `LIB.P` high freely.
- Kazuya — EWGF can't punish Azucena's weave exit (she's airborne). LIB stance pressure beats Kazuya's high-heavy strings.
- King — King's lumbering startup feeds Azucena's whiff-punish weave. ff+1+2 tracking grab whiffs against Libertador weave entry.
- Steve — Steve has no lows; Azucena stands and reads peekaboo. Her `db+3+4` low slice cracks his sway stance.
Sidestep: Azucena sidesteps RIGHT vs most chars (LIB.P chains favor right transition). Vs Mishimas, sidestep RIGHT during their `df+1` recovery for free Libertador weave punish. Vs grapplers, weave-cancel is your throw-break tool.
